A post for October

October. I have to dedicate some words for October. Or perhaps I should name my first born October.

October is my month, and somehow it’s one of my favorite months. I feel October in my bones.

It gives me the chills. And the good kind of chills.

October is the beginning. October welcomes the Autumn like it is part of who I am.

October hosts the first rain, and welcomes it ever so warmly.

The Carmel mountains – last year’s October

Now,

Feel the smell of the first rain in October. Smell the taste of the dirty wet grounds.

Look at the October clouds, and feel the chill. Feel the cold wet breeze of October.

After the first rain, walk under the cold sun, and feel its warmth.

In October, welcome the new beginning, the beauty of the new short days, and the long dark nights.

Drink the October wine, and raise a toast to the upcoming cozy winter.

Note: Though I love olives, I dislike olive picking. In October, the olive-picking season begins, and if you’re in a rural area, you must pick olives.
